The Santa Susana Depot Museum & Model Railroad is located in the historic area of Simi Valley. During the years that this depot was open, it served as a major hub for the community. The building has been restored to its original state. For one hundred and fifty years, this site has been a vital part of the Simi Valley community. Today, the Rancho Simi Parks and Recreation Department maintains the depot, which is now a museum.

In 1976, the County of Ventura designated the Santa Susana Depot as a landmark. It is the only railroad museum in Simi Valley. A model railroad club, the Santa Susana Model Railroad Club, meets at the depot on weekends.

The Santa Susana Train Depot was originally built in 1903 by the Southern Pacific Railroad. Today, it is located in the east side of Simi Valley. Visitors can learn about the history of the Southern Pacific Coast Line by visiting the Santa Susana Train Depot. Many of the walls of the depot are decorated with railroad tools. There are also many photographs and artifacts that depict the life of the people who used the railway in this region.

Today, the Santa Susana Depot Museum and Model Railroad is a popular attraction for tourists and residents of the Simi Valley area. It has been recently renovated for authenticity, and the Museum is a great stop for any train enthusiast. With interactive displays and a model railroad, it is a fun experience for families and history buffs.

Guests can view a variety of train artifacts, including a classic passenger waiting room with a pot-bellied stove. The museum features a model railroad that represents the town of Simi Valley during the 1950s. Children are welcome to explore the depot free of charge.

The Museum & Model Railroad is operated by the Santa Susana Railroad Historical Society. They host model railroad events and operate trains on weekends. You can also rent the building for a meeting or special event. Visit the Santa Susana Depot on December 17-18 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and meet Santa! He'll be at the depot on Christmas Day! Kids under the age of 2 are free, and visitors can take the model railroad for free on Christmas Eve
