Arroyo Simi Bike Path
The Arroyo Simi Bike Path in Simi Valley may not be as visually appealing as Ventura Beach bike paths, but it has its perks. For one thing, it's open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That's not to mention that it's also managed by the County of Ventura.
This means that it's not just for the rich, and famous, but is actually accessible to everyone. Moreover, it's a fun way to get around town and see the sights. If you're a cycling enthusiast, you'll be happy to know that there are 45 cycle routes in the area to choose from.
In short, the Arroyo Simi Bike Path is a 1.6 mile long, three-and-a-half-foot wide, albeit paved, paved road spanning from Madera Road south of Easy Street on the west to Cochran Avenue between Fig Street and Ralston Street on the east.

It's a bit on the short side when it comes to elevation gain, but you'll be rewarded with the pleasant sights of the Simi Valley countryside along the way. You'll even get to take in the most spectacular views of the Conejo Valley. To be honest, the path is pretty pedestrian compared to some of the glitzy and glamorous destinations in the neighboring city of Oxnard.
There's a lot to like about the Arroyo Simi Bike Path, but the biggest drawback is the cost. The cost of the construction is a bit high, but not if you're able to take advantage of the County of Ventura's free bike share program, which is open seven days a week. Even better, you can save the path as part of your Ride with a GPS account.
Plus, there's a bike valet service so you can hop on and off your ride with the click of a button. A nice touch, and something that's not as common in Ventura as it may seem. After all, the city is home to several upscale restaurants and shopping spots, as well as several colleges and universities, including the University of Southern California.
One definite plus point is the fact that the path is a multi-use recreational trail, and will be used by bicyclists, rollerbladers and strollers of all ages. Additionally, it's one of the few places in the county that you'll find a duck pond.
